Better Bag

Gamifying purchases of daily essentials for university students.

With limited budgets, busy schedules, and little experience with shopping independently, many university students struggle to find affordable daily essentials. Better Bag combines a playful visual identity and aspects of gamification, like rewards and achievements, to make planning and making purchases of daily essentials more enjoyable.

Shaped by real experiences

We conducted over 10 user interviews with university students as the basis for this project. By inquiring more broadly on purchasing essentials, affordability, and living away from home for the first time, we gathered insight on student goals.

Takeaways

Better Bag marked my first time designing an app within a team. Although we did encounter some challenges, such as with maintaining visual consistency across our diverse set of screens, working on Better Bag was a valuable journey!

One key takeaway was the importance of collaboration. Sharing ideas and leveraging individual strengths within the team was crucial to the project’s execution.
