A third space for crafting together.
Organized social crafting events, such as scrapbooking and collage circles, have endured for decades. As someone with a longstanding interest in scrapbooking and collage, I explored what draws people to them and their impact on social well-being.
My research question
Through literature reviews, surveys, observational research, and a hosted workshop, it became clear to me that group mixed media crafting meaningfully enhances multiple dimensions of social well-being.
These insights prompted the inception of Social Glue, a participatory exhibition offering an inviting, low-pressure environment to engage with social mixed media crafting.
